정리

• 5종의 great ape(Homo sapiens, Pan troglodytes, P. paniscus, Gorilla gorilla, G. beringei) gut microbiome을 분석하였다.
• Microbiota composition을 바탕으로 phylogenic tree를 그렸을 때, mtDNA sequence variation으로 그린 tree와 유사하였다: gut microbiota는 phylogenetically conserved.
• 그래서 이 연구는 Host phylogeny가 evolutionary timescales에서 gut microbiota를 형성한다고 하였다 ("You are not what you eat").
